At Reclaim the Night, we will be showing our support and solidarity with victims and survivors of childhood sexual abuse. It is with deep respect that we invite the community to tie a ribbon on our Loud Fence.
What is Loud Fence?
LOUD FENCE: a place to show support to ALL victims & survivors of child sexual abuse: tie ribbons to fences, letterboxes etc. Together we are LOUD & strong.
Loud Fence Movement was formed in the early days of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse to give a voice for those that didn’t survive and for those that were struggling to be heard and still are. The response to the LOUD FENCE RIBBONS placed on Church fences was overwhelming and it went worldwide, they
have become the voice of abuse not only in the churches and schools here, but around
the world, and wherever these atrocities have been committed.
Hundreds of colourful ribbons have been tied to St Patrick's Cathedral in Ballarat, as a symbol of support for victims and survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
